This was the saddest fucking thing ive ever seen..
if i lived in san Francisco, this would have already happened
TRIGGER WARNING. Adolescents, in particular, fantasize about their perfect dead bodies being found in repose, and their loved ones weeping in remorse over their lifeless corpses. It doesn’t happen that way. Suicide ends your world. It doesn’t end the world. Someone, at some point, is going to find your body, and that’s a terrible thing to do to anyone. If the person who finds you is someone who loves you, you’ve done the worst possible thing to them; if the person who finds you is someone who doesn’t know you, you’ve traumatized them in a way they’ll never get over. Everyone knows that Kurt Cobain killed himself at 27. Sylvia Plath is remembered more for her suicide than for her poetry or her life. Even Virginia Woolf’s work is overshadowed by the sordid details of her self-drowning. If you’re an artist, suicide doesn’t prove the seriousness or value of your work; instead, it tells the world you preferred death over creation, and your death becomes more important than anything you wrote or sang or made. Suicide runs in families, and suicide clusters turn up regularly within communities. Once the suicide taboo is broken, suicide becomes an item on the menu of life’s possibilities. Too many of my friends have parents or other close relatives who killed themselves, and I see how it happens: once someone close to you kills himself, it becomes a thing that “normal” people do. Don’t fool yourself. It is not a thing that normal people do. Don’t make the people who love you believe that lie.

this is absolutely heart breaking. not only because of the fact that so many people commit suicide from jumping off the bridge, but also because in at least quite a few of the clips shown here, and assumebly many other cases, people just walked by! how? how can you see someone distraught, on top of a bridge known for suicide, SITTING ON THE RAILING, and not stop? not take at least 15 minutes out of your day to at least try talk them down. shit, I’d show up late to work/school/my own WEDDING if I knew I at least tried to save someones life.
dear tumblr followers, do me a favor:
if you ever see anyone, whether you know them or not, who looks like they’re about to take their life or ANYTHING, talk to them. you never know the impact that conversation could have. and if any of my followers need someone to talk to, I’m here for you

Tumblr, please spread this story.
There’s a girl that I grew up with, and she was/is my best friend. Her name is Olivia Anderson, she’s 17 and a junior in high school. I’m convinced she is the worlds nicest girl. She gave up her time, money, and everything she earned for the benefit of others. Olivia stuck up for every single person she witnessed being bullied, and she stood up for what she believed in and didn’t let anyone bring her down. She was very family oriented, her family is her world. Three years ago, her parents were killed in a car accident on their way to pick her up from her dance competition. Ever since it was only her and her brother, Jake who’s 24. Today, May 24th 2011, she was diagnosed with leukemia. She’s already begun treatment but her chances of survival are slim. Please, spread the word and keep her in your prayers. She doesn’t deserve this, she deserve’s the world and beyond. Get well soon Olivia, I love you so much. ♥
REBLOG THIS.Dont just scroll past. This girl deserves this.

You see this child right here? Cute right? Well this poor kid, Aiden Martin, happens to be my sisters son. He has gone missing while at the park in Virginia where she lives. He has huge blue eyes, chubby cheeks, and medium length dark brown hair. Please PLEASE reblog. Just realize, you may be saving a child.
